President Tinubu’s All-Inclusive Governance: Paving The Path For Opposition In Nigeria
Recently, the Federal Government made a significant nomination, selecting Godwin Obaseki to lead the Nigerian delegation to the prestigious Biennale Arte 2024. Obaseki will serve as the commissioner of the Nigerian Pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition organized by La Biennale di Venezia in Italy.
What makes this nomination particularly noteworthy is the choice of Edo State, an opposition stronghold, for this honor. Edo State’s rich cultural heritage and its longstanding promotion of arts and culture played a pivotal role in this decision. Despite being in opposition, the Tinubu-led administration deliberately selected Obaseki to lead the delegation, showcasing its commitment to inclusivity.
President Tinubu’s administration has consistently demonstrated its non-partisan approach to governance. By prioritizing national interests over political affiliations, Tinubu has exemplified true patriotism, overlooking petty differences and focusing on measures to uplift the nation.
Consider, for instance, the scenario in many states where opposition members are often sidelined from crucial opportunities. In Edo State, for instance, 14 members of the EDHA were denied their swearing-in ceremony simply because they belonged to the opposition. This contrasts sharply with President Tinubu’s approach, where inclusivity and fairness are paramount.
It’s time to acknowledge and appreciate President Tinubu’s inclusive leadership. His administration has navigated the complexities of governance with fairness and impartiality. Even governors, albeit some reluctant to admit it publicly due to political pressures, recognize the effectiveness of Tinubu’s approach.
Recently, during the Eid festivities at the president’s private residence in Lagos, an impressive turnout of governors, including those from opposition parties, attested to the president’s popularity and goodwill. Governors such as Fubara of Rivers, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, and Umo Bassey Eno of Akwa Ibom, expressed gratitude for the president’s generosity and inclusive governance.
Notably, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State’s Labour Party consistently praises President Tinubu for his visionary leadership.
With President Tinubu’s progressive actions, Nigeria is on the right trajectory towards prosperity and global prominence. His administration’s commitment to inclusivity sets a positive precedent for governance in the country, inspiring hope for a brighter future for all Nigerians.
