Israeli Army: Over 300 Drones And Missiles Launched By Iran In Unprecedented Attack, 12 Injured

The conflict between Iran and Israel escalated dramatically as Iran launched an unprecedented attack overnight, firing more than 300 drones and missiles towards Israel. Initially, the Israeli military reported over 200 launches, but Hagari revised the figure upwards to include over 300 ballistic missiles, UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), and cruise missiles. He specified that 170 drones and 30 cruise missiles were launched, none of which managed to breach Israeli territory. Additionally, 110 ballistic missiles were fired, with only a few reaching Israel.

The Israeli military identified dozens of surface-to-surface missile launches, most of which were intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory. Despite the intercepts, injuries were reported, including a seven-year-old girl from a Bedouin community near Arad, who was in intensive care.

The attack was reportedly in retaliation for a drone strike on Iran’s consulate in Damascus earlier in the month. The situation remains tense as Israel vows to respond to the strikes, and calls for a ceasefire and condemnation of the attacks come from various quarters, including Nigeria and the G7.
