Putin Speaks On Trump’s Legal Cases, Makes Big Revelation
Russian President Vladimir Putin labeled the legal proceedings against former US president Donald Trump as “politically motivated persecution” during an economic forum in Vladivostok.
The Kremlin has consistently defended Trump, who faces charges related to election interference.

Putin asserted, “As for the persecution of Trump, for us, in the current environment, it’s good because it shows the rottenness of the American system. It is a politically motivated persecution of one’s competitor.” Drawing on his background in the Soviet security services, Putin added, “And this shows who we are fighting… As they said in Soviet times: ‘the bestial face of American imperialism.’”
The already strained relations between Washington and Moscow, marked by various disputes under Putin’s leadership, have further deteriorated since the Kremlin’s significant military actions in Ukraine last year.
Putin expressed skepticism about any alteration in the US foreign policy stance towards Russia, regardless of who is elected president next year. He accused Washington of fueling anti-Russian sentiments among everyday Americans, stating, “Current authorities have directed American society in an anti-Russian spirit. They’ve done it and now somehow turning this ship in the other direction will be very difficult.”
