According to Ireporter Online, the Chairman of the Rivers State Elders Council, Ferdinand Alabraba, has declared the Council’s unequivocal support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in 2027. He further pledged to collaborate closely with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the emerging Rainbow Coalition in the state.

Alabraba made the remarks on Friday in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of Senatorial and Local Government Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political group mobilizing support for Tinubu.

The 86-year-old elder statesman lauded Wike for his early alignment with Tinubu’s camp, noting that the Rivers Elders Council now reflects a diverse political coalition bridging members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said, “As far back as 2023, you guided us to identify with the family, even when we were in one party. Your foresight showed us the way forward.”

Alabraba emphasized that the Council’s composition today represents a united front focused on advancing Tinubu’s reforms and legacy, particularly in Rivers State. He stressed that the Elders Council is fully committed to partnering with Wike and the APC-led coalition to mobilize grassroots support for the President’s second term, highlighting the administration’s development achievements in the state.

“Members from both PDP and APC are working toward a common goal: to showcase the President’s legacies and reforms, and to ensure his re-election in 2027,” he said.

He added, “Because of the benefits we have received since joining the Rainbow Coalition, I can assure you, Your Excellency, that the entire Rivers State Elders Council is committed to your leadership.”

Alabraba concluded by reaffirming the Council’s support for Wike’s leadership and grassroots initiatives, pledging to work at all levels to consolidate support for President Tinubu. “We will follow you and work with you down to the grassroots. What Mr President has done for the state and for this country is enough reason to stand with him and ensure his re-election in 2027,” he said.
