In a post on X, Sani expressed his best wishes for the President’s Eid celebrations but urged him to instruct elected and appointed public officials to refrain from spending public funds on private jet rentals solely for the purpose of greeting him.

This call comes amidst the announcement that President Tinubu will be celebrating Eid-el-Fitr in Lagos. His upcoming visit to Lagos was disclosed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, through an official statement.

According to the statement, President Tinubu will depart from Abuja to Lagos on Sunday to observe the Eid-el-Fitr with prayers for Nigeria and with his family. Despite the solemn occasion, the President is expected to continue with his official duties both during and after the Eid celebrations.

Sani’s plea underscores the importance of fiscal responsibility and the proper utilization of public resources, especially during festive occasions. It reflects concerns about the misuse of public funds for unnecessary extravagance, urging government officials to prioritize prudent spending and accountability.
