In his post, Adeyanju wrote, “Police have finally arraigned Speed Darlington in court. The bail application was moved and granted. We are in the process of finalizing the details.”

This marks the latest chapter in the controversial singer’s ongoing legal saga. Following his court appearance, efforts are underway to finalize the terms of his release.

The Legal Battle Unfolds

This recent development follows Speed Darlington’s legal team petitioning the Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Dasuki Galadanchi, for adherence to a court order regarding his detention. On December 23, 2024, Justice M.S. Liman issued an order requiring the police to either charge Darlington within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.

The legal troubles for Speed Darlington began in October 2024 when he was arrested over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking related to Burna Boy. Initially detained in Lagos, Darlington was later transferred to Abuja, where he was held by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team.

Though released, Speed Darlington was re-arrested in November during a performance in Owerri, Imo State, shortly after his return to Nigeria.
