Strategic Shift: Nigerian Army Moves Elite Special Forces School To Nasarawa!

The Nigerian Army has relocated its Special Forces Training School from Buni Yadi in Yobe State to Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, according to iReporter Online.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, made the announcement during a foundation-laying ceremony and the inauguration of new infrastructure at the 4 Special Forces Command in Doma.

He explained that the move was a strategic one, aimed at ensuring a more conducive environment for preparing elite troops to face today’s increasingly complex security threats.

According to iReporter Online, Oluyede emphasized that the relocation would allow the Special Forces to acquire mission-critical skills in a setting tailored to the unique demands of their operations.

“Our goal is to build a hub of excellence and professionalism that will inspire generations of elite soldiers,” he said.

He reiterated the Army’s commitment to delivering world-class training, ensuring that Nigeria’s Special Forces can stand shoulder to shoulder with their counterparts around the globe.

“This is not just about laying bricks and mortar,” he noted, “but about laying the foundation for a lasting legacy of courage, excellence, and sacrifice.”

Lt.-Gen. Oluyede also called on the troops to maintain a high level of professionalism and dedication, describing them as “indomitable warriors” whose duty must be carried out with unwavering resolve.

“You are the unconquerable—nothing should stand in your way, and the only time to rest is when the mission is complete,” he charged.

The COAS further assured personnel of continued welfare support for both them and their families, while also thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for their backing in the fight against insecurity.

In his remarks, Major-General Hilary Nzan, Commander of the 4 Special Forces, commended the Army Chief’s leadership and vision.

According to iReporter Online, Nzan described the establishment of the training school in Doma as a turning point that would boost morale, improve training standards, and enhance operational readiness.

“We fully embrace this initiative and are committed to using it effectively to achieve our mission goals,” he said.
