Eighteen-year-old Nwaneri was born in England to a Nigerian father and an English mother, making him eligible to play for either country. Despite his involvement with England’s youth teams, the talented winger still has the option to switch allegiance to Nigeria.

During a recent interview with SCORENigeria, Chelle admitted that convincing Nwaneri to choose Nigeria over England would not be easy, especially as England’s senior team coach, Thomas Tuchel, has also shown a strong interest in securing the player’s commitment.
