Tears From Detention: Nnamdi Kanu Mourns Pa Adebanjo, Regrets Missed Meeting

Naija News reports that Kanu, in a statement conveyed by his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, lamented that he had hoped to meet the late elder statesman after his release from detention.

“Today (Friday), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu instructed me to express his grief over the loss of Chief Ayo Adebanjo. He described him as a courageous leader with an unwavering conscience, someone who will be greatly missed. Kanu had looked forward to meeting Chief Adebanjo upon his release,” Ejimakor stated.

Meanwhile, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, also paid tribute, calling Adebanjo a man of honor who upheld his values until the very end.

“One of the last noble men of our country has passed. He remained honorable till death in a nation where many believe integrity is no longer possible,” Ezekwesili wrote on her handle.

She extended condolences to Adebanjo’s family, noting that Nigeria would deeply feel his absence and praying for strength and comfort for those he left behind.
