Tinubu Hails Orji Kalu At 66, Praises National Contributions

According to Ireporter Online, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm birthday felicitations to former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, while commending his long-standing contributions to national development and public service.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described Kalu as a dedicated public servant whose influence cuts across governance, legislative duties, and the private sector.

The President noted that during his tenure as Governor of Abia State from 1999 to 2007, Kalu showed strong commitment to infrastructural development and the welfare of residents in the state.

Tinubu further acknowledged the senator’s legislative contributions in the National Assembly, where he previously served as Chief Whip and currently chairs the Senate Committee on the Southeast Development Commission (SEDC), an initiative aimed at accelerating development across the Southeast geopolitical zone.

He emphasized that Kalu’s leadership role in the commission aligns with ongoing efforts to promote inclusive growth and bridge developmental gaps in the region.

The President was quoted as saying that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s vision, resilience, and dedication to national progress and Abia State’s development remain highly commendable.

Tinubu also highlighted Kalu’s impact in the business sector as Chairman of SLOK Holding, describing him as a media entrepreneur whose investments have continued to generate employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth.

He concluded by wishing the former governor continued good health, greater strength, and wisdom as he continues to contribute to national service.
