Tragedy Strikes: 13-Year-Old Boy Loses Life In Lagos Beach Drowning

A day of leisure turned tragic as 13-year-old Kelvin Onyengba lost his life in a drowning incident at Alatise Beach in Lagos State.

According to reports, Kelvin was enjoying a swim with five friends at the beach in Ajah when the unfortunate incident occurred around noon on Tuesday.

Police sources revealed that the force of the sea’s waves overwhelmed Kelvin, leading to his untimely demise.

“The incident happened yesterday. The mother of the boy said that the wave of the water swept her son. According to her, he went out with five of his friends to swim and hang out, but unfortunately, the boy did not come back to his parents,” a police source stated.

Confirming the incident, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, mentioned that detectives had visited the scene, but Kelvin’s body was yet to be recovered, leaving his family in anguish.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in seemingly innocent leisure activities, highlighting the importance of caution and vigilance, especially around water bodies.
