The shocking attack was captured in a video shared by Facebook user Anyaeri Bright, providing a grim visual account of the incident. According to reports, the gunmen, in a desperate bid to escape, opened fire at the junction, resulting in the tragic demise of the police officers.
In a disturbing escalation of criminal activities, Point of Sales (POS) operators in parts of Owerri also fell victim to assailants on the same day. Reports indicate that armed criminals targeted POS shops and passersby, robbing them of cash and valuables in broad daylight.
Incidents were reported at Christiana junction on Egbu Road and Amawire in Orji on the Owerri-Okigwe Road, leaving residents shaken by the audacity of the attacks.
