Transforming Transportation: NEDC To Deploy Electric Vehicles Across North East – President Tinubu Gives Green Light

President Bola Tinubu has granted approval for the North East Development Commission (NEDC) to utilize electric-powered vehicles to alleviate transportation challenges in the region.

General Paul Tarfa (retd), the chairman of the commission, made the announcement following a brief meeting with the Vice President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

He noted that the commission is currently developing plans to establish a solar-powered grid, with capacities of either 5kVA or 10kVA, to address power supply deficiencies.

In addition to the modified electric vehicles designed to accommodate more passengers and cargo, electric tricycles are also set to be introduced in the region.
