the allocation to the bottom-up cash plan policy implemented by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.

He presented a breakdown of the ministry’s 2024 budget performance and outlined the projections for 2025.

According to Pate, the ministry had only received N26.55bn, out of the N233.69bn allocated for capital projects in 2024, a mere 15.06%. He further highlighted that the N57.39bn earmarked for multilateral/bilateral loans had not been released.

He clarified that the total budgetary allocation for the ministry in 2024 was N242.14bn, with N7.48bn for personnel, N998.74m for overhead costs, and N233.66bn for capital expenditure.

In addressing the 2025 budget, Pate confirmed that it was prepared with the new National Development Plan in mind, ensuring alignment with national health policies and strategies.

He also discussed the government’s focus on improving healthcare services across public health institutions and emphasized the importance of uniting for the promotion of the health sector.

Despite existing challenges, the minister highlighted the significant improvements in the health sector, pointing out the skilled medical personnel that are sought after internationally.
