in the state.
Governor Sule stated that his former cabinet members had fulfilled their mandates in accordance with the state’s Economic Strategy One. However, after dissolving the cabinet last Friday, he appointed 45 new permanent secretaries to fill the administrative gaps.
In a recent interview on Arise News, the Governor shared that he was seeking a new team to help implement his state’s Economic Strategy Two. He mentioned that some former cabinet members would be reappointed to the new team.
“This is a strategic decision to strengthen the team, to drive development, and focus on areas of competitiveness,” Governor Sule explained. He highlighted that the current Secretary to the State Government had served for nearly five years, making him the longest-serving in the state’s history.
The Governor also noted that the commissioners who were dismissed had worked closely with him during the election campaign, and although he was satisfied with their performance, the decision was made to dissolve the entire cabinet rather than retain a few members. He emphasized that the new cabinet would focus on critical areas such as security, agriculture, mining, education, health, and urban development.
Governor Sule reassured the public that a new cabinet would be appointed soon, stressing that the permanent secretaries, head of service, and directors had been managing the state’s affairs efficiently during this interim period.
“The team of permanent secretaries we have is very strong, and today (Monday), we had a joint meeting with them and the local government chairmen to ensure that everything continues smoothly until the new cabinet is appointed,” he said. The Governor assured that the short break would be temporary and would not delay the administration’s progress.
