Uromi Bank Robbery: PDP Chieftain, Henry Asemota Sympathizes With Esan Community Express Disappointment In The Security Agents

A PDP chieftain in Edo State, Hon Amb Henry Osaro Asemota JP has joined millions of Nigerians in condemning the dastardly attack by heavily armed bandits on commercial banks at Uromi which left some police officers and members of the public dead.

Asemota while condoling with the bereaved and sympathizing with the banks described the incident as shocking, horrific and unfortunate.

In a statement made available to the press Friday evening, Hon Asemota called for a holistic probe into the heartbreaking incidence while tasking the security agents to do the needful in apprehending the evil perpetrators of the dastardly act.

” First of all let me sincerely sympathize with the people of Uromi in Esan North East for their loss, and I must say I am highly disappointed in our security agents because the daredevil armed robbers had a field day in Uromi operating for more than two hours and there was no reprisal attack or defence from the security agencies.

It is sad and shocking that such a thing can happen in this state in the 21st century without a single counterattack from the security agencies.

I want to say it is high time His Excellency the Governor of Edo State challenges the security agents because it has never been heard in the history of the State that robbers would go to a particular place and rob more than three banks and a filling station for more than two hours having a field day, in one of the videos I saw the robbers were strolling busy having fun while constituting mayhem.

This is unacceptable to me and I condemn in totality the approach of our security agents on the attack of Uromi Community and the affected banks”

Hon Asemota further sympathized with the banks and called on the security agencies to extend their dragnet to even the staff of the banks to unravel the distressing incidence as their might by an inside collaborator.
