US to Revoke Visas of Students Who Skip Classes Without Notice
The US Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, has warned that students who skip classes or leave their study programs without informing their schools risk having their US visas revoked. Speaking during a visit to Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Mills emphasized that student visa holders must adhere strictly to the terms of their visas.
He highlighted that overstaying visas could lead to deportation and a lifetime travel ban. Visa applicants are expected to provide accurate information about their travel purpose and financial plans, as a visa does not guarantee entry but reflects compliance with US immigration laws.
Minister Idris reaffirmed the strong Nigeria-US partnership, noting ongoing collaborations to ensure better understanding of visa regulations and policies between both nations.
