Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has dismissed rumors suggesting a crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which allegedly led to the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu as Chairman of the party.

After a closed-door meeting with APC governors, Uzodinma, who serves as Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, stated that the party remains united and that all stakeholders are working together for the betterment of the APC and the country.

Uzodimma acknowledged the voluntary resignations of the National Chairman and National Secretary, praising their service to the party and expressing support for their decisions.

He mentioned that the party’s leadership has accepted their resignations and appointed an acting chairman and acting secretary.

When questioned about the constitutionality of caretaker and acting committees, Uzodimma emphasized that there is no crisis within the party. He highlighted that the party won the last election by a significant margin and expressed confidence in their chances in the next election.

According to the party’s constitution, in the absence of a substantive National Chairman, the Deputy National Chairman from the same zone takes over, and the same applies to the Deputy National Secretary. Uzodimma assured that the party’s succession plan is in place and functioning well.
