According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has declared himself ready to return to action as Galatasaray prepare for a crucial Super Lig derby against arch-rivals Fenerbahçe scheduled for 6 p.m. on December 1.

Osimhen has missed the club’s last two matches due to a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty during Nigeria’s defeat to DR Congo in the final of the 2026 World Cup African play-off. Following medical scans, Galatasaray confirmed that the striker had commenced treatment.

Turkish journalist Mehmet Özcan revealed that Osimhen has informed his teammates of his willingness to take risks to feature in the high-stakes derby. In comments shared by Forza Cimbom, the Nigerian striker emphasized the significance of the fixture, stating, “I know the importance of the Fenerbahçe derby and its meaning for the fans. I experienced this excitement last season. This club made this investment in me for such big matches. If necessary, I will take risks and go out on the field to give 100 per cent.”

Galatasaray enter the match with a slim one-point lead over Fenerbahçe at the top of the Super Lig. The fixture is historically intense, prompting Turkish authorities to deploy approximately 16,000 security personnel for crowd management.

Osimhen’s record in the rivalry is impressive. During his loan spell last season, he scored twice in a 2-1 cup win over Fenerbahçe and assisted a goal in Galatasaray’s 3-1 league victory last September. After completing a permanent transfer following a prolific loan campaign in which he scored 37 goals in 41 games, Osimhen has so far netted three goals in nine league appearances this season and nine goals in 12 across all competitions.
