Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has openly embraced the label of “conspirator” alongside former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, emphasizing their united front within the opposition coalition against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at Amaechi’s 60th birthday celebration in Abuja on Saturday, Atiku declared that he, Amaechi, and their allies are committed to resisting the policies of the current government, which he accused of weaponizing poverty to maintain power.

“You may call me a conspirator or whatever name you choose. That is precisely why we have formed this alliance—to prevent the continuation of these harmful policies,” Atiku stated. “Rotimi Amaechi is one of our star conspirators, and together, we will keep working to alleviate poverty and ensure the machinery of the state is not used as a weapon.”

Atiku’s remarks come as the opposition coalition, including notable figures such as former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, prepares to challenge Tinubu’s administration in the 2027 elections. The coalition recently held strategic meetings to solidify their plans to unseat the incumbent government.
