Why I Recommend Video Wills – Leo DaSilva Breaks Silence
Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Leo DaSilva, has advised Nigerians to consider recording video wills as a means of preventing disputes and misunderstandings over asset distribution after death.
According to Ireporter Online, DaSilva made the suggestion via his X handle, where he stressed that blood relations do not always translate to loyalty or active involvement in a person’s life, warning that some relatives who were absent during one’s lifetime may still emerge to contest inheritance.
He noted that documenting one’s wishes clearly could help ensure a smoother and more transparent distribution of assets, reducing the likelihood of family conflicts.
DaSilva further argued that a video will could serve as a stronger form of instruction, helping to prevent situations where “enemies” are mistaken for close family members simply because of biological ties.
In his words, he emphasized that individuals should take proactive steps in outlining their posthumous wishes, stating that family by blood does not always reflect true relationships or trust.
