Why We Must Reject Asue Ighodalo, Vote Out PDP, Support APC, and Elect Senator Monday Okpebholo As Governor Of Edo State

Why We Must Reject Asue Ighodalo, Vote Out PDP, Support APC, and Elect Senator Monday Okpebholo As Governor Of Edo StateGood day, my esteemed followers. I greet you all. As we know, the Edo State governorship election is just a few months away, and political parties have begun campaigning to garner support for their candidates ahead of the September 21st election. This election is crucial for the people of Edo State, as it determines not just who will be governor but also the kind of government that will meaningfully contribute to the well-being of Edo indigenes, unlike the current administration.
The PDP and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, have a notable presence in both private and public sectors. As MD, CEO, and chairman of boards in establishments such as Sterling Bank PLC and Nigeria Breweries, and serving as an economic adviser to the Edo State government for over 10 years, one might expect significant local impact.
However, despite his prominent positions, his senatorial district, local government area, and village in Esan South East lack a single branch of Sterling Bank. The high rate of unemployment persists among youths who have not seen any job opportunities from the government under the current administration of Godwin Obaseki.
Asue Ighodalo has failed to bring development to his immediate community, local government, or senatorial district, despite his roles in notable establishments and as an economic adviser. Under his watch, Edo people were defrauded of their hard-earned money (₦3,000 per person) in the name of Agricpreneurship through Sterling Bank PLC.
In contrast, the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has become a beacon of governance in the senatorial district, executing projects such as road construction, primary healthcare centers, electricity provision, and human capacity development. He has renewed the hope of people living in the senatorial district, who now feel the presence of government in their neighborhood and community.
The deputy governorship candidate of the APC, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa (aka Denco), is a young man who understands his legislative duties well and has been named “Mr. Projects” and the pride of Ovia Federal Constituency. With this combination, the APC has put together a formidable team that will propel Edo into a new era of development and industrialization.
The choice before us is clear. Edo State needs leaders who are dedicated, transparent, and committed to genuine development. Let us come together and support Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa for a better, brighter Edo State.
Together, we can modernize Edo with MO-DEN. Together, we can achieve greatness.
