Unveiling The Man Called Asue Ighodalo And Why Edo Indigenes Should reject Him And His Party, The PDP
Unveiling The Man Called Asue Ighodalo And Why Edo Indigenes Should reject Him And His Party, The PDPAs we look ahead in this campaign season, one might ask: what are the reasons why we should carefully elect the right person to Dennis Osadebe Avenue? The PDP and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo, along with Osarodion Ogie, have nothing to offer, judging from their roles in government for over a decade.
We recall that sometime in 2018/2019, the Obaseki-led government required Edo indigenes to open an account with Sterling Bank. Participants were made to deposit a sum of two thousand naira during the Agricpreneurship program. To date, no one has been able to access or recover that money, and the program has not yielded any positive agricultural development in Edo State. The project failed to materialize, and nothing substantial can be said about it.
Lives were lost during the registration period with Sterling Bank PLC as individuals were forced to travel to the Mission Road branch in Benin due to the deplorable state of the roads. Some people traveled for 3 to 4 hours from places like Akoko Edo and Sobe in Owan West and lost their lives. We, the concerned citizens of Edo State, cannot and will not support a man who, along with his bank and in collaboration with the present governor, Godwin Obaseki, sought only to exploit us.
Osarodion Ogie, the deputy governorship candidate of the PDP, has his own shortcomings. Despite coming from one of the oil-producing local governments in the state and being in government for about sixteen years, he cannot boast of a single road he influenced in his own local government. Areas like Agbor Park and Ogbeson Quarter have been overtaken by erosion, forcing residents to sleep with one eye open during heavy downpours. Many cannot even access their homes anymore.
In conclusion, I appeal to the good people of our dear Edo State: enough is enough. We cannot allow Obaseki, who claimed to fight godfatherism, to turn himself into one by choosing who the party candidate becomes.
Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa have visible projects scattered across their various constituencies, both completed and ongoing. These two have already demonstrated their readiness to develop Edo State. When voted in as governor and deputy, respectively, Edo State will experience the desired growth and stability in all aspects of life and governance.
Together, we can make Edo State a state envied by others, utilizing the natural resources God has blessed us with.
Let’s modernize Edo with MO-DEN. Together we can.
