by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ahoada East and West local government areas of Rivers State, Wike denied the allegations, asserting that as the FCT Minister, he oversees land matters in Abuja and cannot be involved in land grabbing.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in his administration, emphasizing that without this role, he would not have gained insight into the complexities of Nigeria.

Wike clarified, “Those engaging in land grabbing are the ones I’m addressing, and that’s why we must thank Mr. President. Without this opportunity, we wouldn’t fully understand our nation’s challenges.”

Regarding his controversial stance, he added, “If being controversial means standing up for what is right, then I embrace it. Can anyone really accuse me of land grabbing when I’m responsible for land in Abuja?”

He highlighted the difference in governance challenges between Rivers State and the FCT, stating, “What seemed difficult here pales in comparison to the broader national context.”

Wike continued to assert that past inaction does not translate to future ineffectiveness, declaring, “Just because previous governments struggled to implement rules doesn’t mean this Renewed Hope Agenda government will fail. I assure you, regardless of the noise or propaganda, I will uphold what is right. Call me whatever you like; I am focused on doing the right thing.”

He concluded, “The misconception that threats and blackmail can sway us is unfounded. My priority is to fulfill my duties, and come what may, I will remain steadfast
