According to Ireporter Online, Shola Ogudu, mother of Wizkid’s 14-year-old son, Boluwatife, popularly known as Champz, has addressed the numerous show invitations her son has received following the release of his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival.

In a statement shared on X, Ogudu explained that Champz will not be participating in live performances at this stage, citing his young age and the importance of prioritizing his personal and artistic development. She expressed gratitude for the interest in her son, writing, “We want to say a big thank you for the countless show invitations and for considering Champz. Due to his age, we’re prioritizing development over live performances for now, and have had to decline show bookings. We truly appreciate the interest and understanding.”

Released in November, Champion’s Arrival has enjoyed widespread success, topping charts and attracting significant attention from music fans. Champz himself celebrated the milestone, noting that the EP achieved over one million Spotify listeners, millions of streams, and top rankings in multiple countries within hours of release. “Humbled, motivated, and ready for whatever comes next. This is only the beginning,” he said.

Champz’s music, characterized by a fusion of Afrobeats and UK grime, has been widely praised by fans and critics for its distinctive sound, marking the young artist as one to watch in the coming years.0
