Despite the alarming occurrence, all 52 passengers and two crew members on board, who had flown from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, were safely evacuated with no reported injuries.

Emergency response teams promptly intervened to assess the situation and ensure everyone’s safety. Subsequently, the airport management initiated a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of the aircraft’s deviation from the runway.

According to reports, fire and rescue teams were deployed to aid in the evacuation process, and Runway 18L was temporarily closed to traffic.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) confirmed the incident and dispatched investigators to the site, emphasizing the importance of determining the underlying factors contributing to the mishap.

This incident follows a similar occurrence involving a Dana aircraft three weeks prior at the same airport, prompting regulatory action by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and subsequent investigations by the airline.
