Dana Air Operations Suspended by Tinubu Government Following Lagos Airport Incident

The incident, which occurred at the Muritala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, involved a Dana Air aircraft skidding off the runway. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and all 83 passengers and crew onboard disembarked safely without injuries. The aircraft suffered minimal damage.

Dana Air promptly notified the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) about the incident. The airline’s maintenance team has grounded the aircraft involved for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has officially reopened runway 18L/36R at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos, which was temporarily closed after the Dana Air incident. Extensive cleaning efforts have been undertaken in the affected muddy area to ensure the runway’s safety for operation.
