Yul Edochie Advises Men Against Kneeling When Proposing To A Woman
According to Ireporter Online, actor Yul Edochie has advised men to avoid kneeling when proposing to women, describing the practice as unnecessary and demeaning. The filmmaker, who has recently been vocal on relationship matters via X (formerly Twitter), encouraged men to maintain confidence and dignity during proposals.
Edochie argued that men should stand “like kings” when asking for marriage, insisting that any woman who demands a kneeling proposal should be walked away from. He maintained that such expectations are not a sign of genuine love and should not be accommodated.
In his post, he stated that men who kneel to propose “look stupid” and should desist from the act entirely, urging them instead to preserve their self-respect. He further added that a woman who truly loves a man would not encourage him to “make a fool of himself,” reinforcing his stance against the tradition.
The remarks have continued to generate mixed reactions online, with some agreeing with his perspective while others defend kneeling as a symbolic romantic gesture.
