BREAKING: Oba Dies In Car Crash

Oba Ogboni Agbaye, the global leader of the Ogboni, Oba Abdullah Adetoyese Olakisan, has died.

The traditionalist died along with two others in a road accident on Monday, while on a mission to rescue some victims from kidnappers along the Ila/Edemonsi/Imesi-Ile Road.

It was also learned that two of the Oba Ogboni Agbaye’s wives were kidnapped by gunmen who attacked his residence in the early hours of Monday.

The officer-in-charge of Imesi-Ile police post, Oba Olakisan, and a female occupant were traveling in the vehicle when the accident occurred, according to DAILY POST.

Based on information provided by one of the suspects, the traditionalist, the police officer, and the woman pursued the abductors towards Ila but were involved in an accident on their way back to Imesi-Ile.

The incident was confirmed by Yemisi Opalola, the Osun State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO.

Opalola also confirmed that the Command had launched a search and rescue operation to locate and rescue the victims.

“The Ogboni leader, the Police OC Imesi-Ile and a woman were inside his (Olakisan’s) car coming back to Imesi after reaching Ila, searching for his wives that were abducted, when they had an accident.

“The vehicle ran into a tree. It was a lone accident.

“They were rushed to a hospital, but eventually they all died. Our men are inside the bush to continue the search and rescue mission,” she explained.

On Sunday, the Command also announced that it had rescued a female victim of a kidnapping that occurred on Friday along the Osogbo-Ikirun Road.
