Governor Alia emphasized the importance of the corps members’ services to the unity of the country and urged them to take advantage of opportunities to impact humanity and contribute to the development of the state and the nation.

The Benue State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Abe Ashumate, commended the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of corps members and providing essential items during their stay at the camp.

He also advised the corps members to be good ambassadors of the NYSC and avoid engaging in activities that could tarnish the image of the scheme.

Before this increase, all categories of corps members in the state were supposedly paid ₦10,000 monthly by previous governments, but this payment was not effectively implemented.

The hope is that the Governor’s pronouncement will be followed through with actual cash payments to boost the morale of serving corps members and attract more to serve in Benue state.
