The uproar unfolded around 6 p.m. on Monday at the MMA2 terminal, with passengers expressing their outrage after enduring lengthy waits and abrupt cancellations of flights bound for Port Harcourt and Owerri.

Sources revealed that some travelers had been stranded at the airport for over 24 hours due to flight delays without prior notice. Promises of rescheduled flights were unfulfilled, leading to the eruption of violence as passengers dismantled flight check-in computers and reportedly assaulted airline attendants.

According to witnesses, the chaos stemmed from a series of flight disruptions dating back to February 11, with technical issues cited as the cause. Despite assurances from Dana Airline, the situation escalated when flights were again canceled, leaving passengers without recourse.

Dana Airline responded with apologies, citing unexpected maintenance delays, and emphasizing the safety of passengers and staff. However, the unrest persisted until aviation security intervened, allowing boarding to resume around 9 p.m.
