Disagreement Emerges In Rivers PDP Over Suspension Of Fubara’s Loyalist

Abiante, known to be aligned with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara amid the ongoing conflict with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has become a focal point of contention.

Naija News disclosed that Abiante’s suspension was announced in a resolution issued after a meeting of PDP leaders and stakeholders in Ngor on Monday evening. The resolution, signed by PDP CTC Ward Chairman Dike Bara, CTC Ward Secretary Dokubo Jackson, and 12 other executives, accused Abiante of engaging in anti-party activities and unauthorized publicity of internal disputes within the party, among other allegations.

However, another Caretaker Committee from Ngo Town, Ward 1, led by Hon. Owuokagakemi Lawrence and Stephen Jumbo, refuted the suspension. They stated that Abiante remains a valid member of the party and dismissed the authority of Dike Bara and Dokubor Jackson, labeling them as non-members and officials of the party.

In a statement released in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, the executives affirmed Abiante’s status as a member and leader of the PDP in Andoni LGA, dismissing the suspension as the actions of frustrated politicians seeking to undermine his political stature.

The statement urged the public to disregard the purported suspension, emphasizing the recognized leadership of Abiante within the party and denouncing the attempts to discredit him.
