Sophia Momodu, mother of Davido’s child, has sparked reactions following her strong opposition to Davido’s bid for custody of their daughter at the Lagos State High Court sitting in Yaba.

In her counter-affidavit, Momodu argued vehemently against Davido’s suitability for custody, alleging neglect and emotional absence rather than consistent parental care. She accused Davido of using their daughter for media stunts and promotions, rather than genuine fatherly involvement.

Momodu detailed instances where Davido allegedly failed to meet financial obligations, including school fees, prompting her to take responsibility. She criticized Davido’s sporadic visits, linking them to unwelcome advances and subsequent withdrawal when denied.

Contrary to Davido’s claims, Momodu asserted that she has always facilitated access for Davido and his family to visit their daughter, stressing her commitment to providing the best care despite challenges.

The court proceedings also highlighted issues of privacy and child protection, with Momodu’s legal team invoking sections of Lagos State’s Child Rights Law to protect the identity and welfare of the minor involved.
