Tinubu Shakes Up Agriculture: Unveils New Ministry Of Livestock Development!President Bola Tinubu has announced the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Livestock Reform Implementation Committee at the Presidential Villa.

President Tinubu stated that the appointment of a substantive Minister for the new ministry would be made soon. Additionally, he appointed former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, as the new Vice Chairman of the committee, replacing Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The President himself serves as the Chairman of the panel.

The inauguration was attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, and Chief of Staff to the President Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, along with other cabinet members.

President Tinubu had approved the establishment of the Presidential Committee on September 15, 2023. This committee is dedicated to reforming the livestock industry and providing long-term solutions to the recurring clashes between herders and farmers in Nigeria. The committee was established following the submission of a report from the National Conference on Livestock Reforms and Mitigation of Associated Conflicts in Nigeria.
