Military Coup On Crime: Nigerian Army Seizes Arsenal In Plateau State, 8 CapturedThe Nigerian military has reported the discovery of a significant quantity of weapons in Plateau State, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals.
According to Major SN Zhakom, Military Information Officer of Operation Safe Haven, 3 Division, the recovery operation took place in the FANN district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area on July 17, 2024.
The statement disclosed that a tactical team from Operation SAFE HAVEN encountered an attack on July 10, 2024, while attempting to retrieve arms from a hideout used by gunrunners in Sangasa Village, Fann District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. During this operation, Assistant Superintendent of Immigration CL Agwom tragically lost his life at the hands of the criminals.
Responding swiftly, troops conducted a subsequent operation in the district to recover illegal arms, ammunition, and other hazardous weapons, aligning with the primary mission of Operation Safe Haven.
