Revolutionary Education Reform: Nigeria Set For Overhaul With New Secondary School Curriculum By September 2024!The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has announced a forthcoming introduction of a revamped secondary school curriculum nationwide, set to take effect from September 2024. Making the disclosure at the ongoing 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board policy meeting in Abuja, Mamman underscored the ministry’s unwavering commitment to this reform.

“We are diligently working towards the implementation of a new secondary school curriculum by September,” Mamman affirmed.

He disclosed that the curriculum development process has been ongoing for the past year, with a stakeholders’ assembly slated for August 6, 2024.

“Our objective is to roll out this program across all schools, both public and private, by September,” Mamman elaborated.

Recently, the National Senior Secondary School Education Commission highlighted the deplorable state of senior secondary schools nationwide, advocating for collaborative efforts to tackle these issues. These challenges encompass inadequate infrastructure, unqualified educators, outdated curriculum, and insufficiently equipped libraries and laboratories.

The commission further confirmed ongoing efforts towards the introduction of the updated curriculum.
