Nigeria Making Strides in the Fight Against Terrorism – Former Aide to Buhari, Bashir Ahmad
Nigeria is making significant progress in its battle against terrorism, according to Bashir Ahmad, the former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari. Ahmad, while addressing the ongoing security challenges, stated that the country’s efforts in combating banditry and terrorism are beginning to yield promising results.
In a recent statement, Ahmad expressed optimism about the measures taken by the government and security forces to curb terrorism, particularly in regions most affected by insurgent activities. He pointed out that while challenges remain, the coordinated efforts of the military and intelligence agencies have drastically reduced the influence of terrorists and bandits in various parts of the country.
Bashir Ahmad emphasized that Nigeria’s success in counterterrorism operations is a testament to the dedication and bravery of the armed forces, who continue to fight relentlessly to secure the nation. He acknowledged that under Buhari’s administration, substantial groundwork was laid to tackle terrorism head-on, with numerous successes recorded in various operations across the country.
Ahmad’s comments come at a time when discussions around national security are intensifying, with citizens eager to see long-term peace and stability. He reiterated that though the war against terrorism is not over, Nigeria is certainly on the right path, with victory closer than ever before.
The former presidential aide’s remarks align with the broader narrative from government officials who have consistently reported progress in reclaiming territories and neutralizing threats posed by terrorist factions, especially in northern Nigeria.
Despite the successes, Ahmad cautioned that sustained vigilance is necessary. He urged the public to continue supporting the security forces and to remain cooperative in reporting suspicious activities that may hinder the nation’s ongoing fight against banditry and terrorism.
As Nigeria pushes forward in its counterterrorism efforts, many are hopeful that the nation will soon enjoy lasting peace and that the era of rampant banditry will be a thing of the past.
