Obaseki’s Desperate Bid To Buy Votes With Blood Money Must Be Rejected By Edo CitizensPress Statement:It has come to our attention that Governor Godwin Obaseki, in a desperate attempt to cling to power and impose his puppet, Asue Ighodalo, on the people of Edo State, has allegedly mopped up billions of naira and even stashed dollar currencies to buy votes in the upcoming elections.

We, as concerned citizens, must stand united and reject this blood money!

This cash—no matter how much—is stained with the blood of innocent Edo people who have perished because of this government’s abysmal failures.

This money is the cost of the lives lost to flooding across Edo, due to the government’s lack of preparedness and failure to provide lasting solutions. It is the price paid by Edo families torn apart by kidnappings and the alarming rise in insecurity that has plagued our state.

These funds are soaked with the pain of our people who have lost loved ones due to the dilapidated state of our roads, leading to countless accidents and deaths.

It is blood money that carries the weight of the lives lost in our failing healthcare system, where even the most basic treatments are out of reach for the ordinary Edo citizen. Obaseki and his failed government have overseen the deterioration of our state, yet now they think they can purchase your votes with dirty cash.

The governor’s desperation to impose his handpicked stooge, Asue Ighodalo—who, as the Chief Economic Adviser, has already failed Edo miserably—is the height of political greed. Edo is not for sale, and we must not allow ourselves to be bought off with blood money!

This is the same administration that has brought Edo to its knees, and now, when their time is up, they think throwing money at the people will erase the years of suffering. We must reject both Obaseki and his puppet Ighodalo. Edo people deserve better than a continuation of this disastrous government!

The PDP’s time is up! Let us stand strong, united, and reject these attempts to buy our future. Edo is not for sale, and no amount of dirty money can replace the dignity and pride of our people.
