Breaking: Police Neutralize Seven, Seize 23 Deadly Firearms In Nationwide Raid

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has neutralized seven terrorists and recovered 23 firearms, including assorted ammunition, during recent operations across the country.

On February 8, 2025, security operatives in Imo State, in collaboration with other agencies, raided an IPOB/ESN terrorist hideout in Ezioha, Mbaitolu, eliminating two key members. The operation led to the recovery of seven AK-47 rifles, 13 pump-action guns, and hundreds of rounds of live ammunition.

A follow-up raid on February 9, 2025, in Nkwukwo Forest, near the boundary with Ubachima Forest, resulted in the elimination of three additional terrorists. Security forces also confiscated two AK-47 rifles with 36 rounds of live ammunition, a pump-action gun, four motorcycles, and criminal charms.

According to Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police remain dedicated to dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring the safety of citizens. Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised the operatives for their bravery and emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and community collaboration in tackling insecurity.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to protecting lives and property,” Adejobi assured.
