Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and former Governor Ibikunle Amosun have called on Nigerians to show patience and understanding toward President Bola Tinubu’s administration, especially as it implements tough economic reforms.

Their appeal came during Sallah prayers held at the Lantoro prayer ground in Abeokuta, where Abiodun, represented by Senator Shuaib Salisu, acknowledged the economic challenges facing citizens. He emphasized that while the pain is real, it stems from necessary reforms aimed at long-term national growth.

Abiodun noted that Tinubu could have continued temporary relief measures, but instead chose a more difficult path with the promise of future stability. He pointed to early signs of economic improvement, including a drop in some prices, despite ongoing inflation.

Also speaking, former Governor Amosun urged Nigerians to reflect on the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir—particularly sacrifice, obedience, and faith in God—and extend those values to their relationship with national leadership.
