“Life Is Too Short”: Seyi Shay Opens Door For Peace With Tiwa Savage After Years Of Feud

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Seyi Shay, has expressed her willingness to reconcile with fellow music star Tiwa Savage after years of tension between them.

Speaking in an interview monitored by Ireporter Online, Seyi Shay said she has no lingering animosity toward Tiwa Savage and is open to mending their relationship, emphasizing that “life is too short” to hold grudges.

The “Right Now” crooner addressed their long-standing misunderstanding, which reportedly stemmed from a Pepsi brand campaign years ago, clarifying that her involvement was purely a business decision and not a personal slight. She maintained that she has never found joy in another woman’s challenges and has always held Tiwa Savage in high regard for her contributions to the Nigerian music industry.

Seyi Shay explained that their public fallout and diss tracks emerged during a period of intense competition and industry pressure, which fueled emotions and miscommunication. Reflecting on that time, she admitted that maturity and growth have given her a new perspective, adding that better communication could have prevented the clash.

According to her, if given the opportunity, she would now prefer dialogue over confrontation, expressing readiness for a private or public reconciliation. She added that resolving their differences would not only bring personal peace but also inspire unity among women in the entertainment industry.

In her words, “That period was purely a brand decision, not a personal one. I have never celebrated another woman’s misfortune. I deeply respect Tiwa’s journey—she’s an incredible artist and a trailblazer. There’s no bad blood on my part, only respect and admiration for her work.”

Seyi Shay further remarked, “We were both under pressure in a competitive industry, and emotions sometimes run high. Time and maturity have given both of us clarity. If I could go back, I would choose communication over confrontation. Life is too short for tension. If having that conversation helps heal old wounds and sets a positive example for women in music, I’m open to it.”

Their dispute dates back to 2021, when a video capturing an altercation between both singers at a Lagos salon went viral, marking one of the most publicized feuds in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
