Tension Builds As Federal Government Releases Names For NSCDC, Immigration, And Fire Service Tests
The Federal Government has officially released the shortlist of candidates qualified to participate in the next phase of the ongoing recruitment exercise for the nation’s paramilitary services.
According to Ireporter Online, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) made this announcement in a statement signed by its Secretary, retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, on Wednesday in Abuja.
The recruitment process, which encompasses the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has now advanced to the testing stage.
Applicants are advised to visit the official recruitment portal at from Thursday, October 30, 2025, to check their shortlist status and obtain details of the upcoming Computer-Based Test (CBT).
The statement emphasized that shortlisted candidates must pay close attention to their designated test venues, dates, and times as displayed on the portal. Maj.-Gen. Jubril also cautioned applicants to avoid fraudulent websites and ensure they access only the authorized government recruitment platform.
Reports indicate that over 1.9 million Nigerians applied for positions across the four paramilitary agencies before the application portal closed on August 11. Data from the CDCFIB portal revealed that Kogi, Kaduna, and Benue States led the pack with 116,162, 114,536, and 110,565 applications respectively. They were followed closely by Kano and Niger States, bringing the total number of applications from the top five states to 510,174.
Conversely, Bayelsa, Lagos, Rivers, Ebonyi, and Delta States recorded the lowest figures, collectively submitting 99,658 applications.
The shortlist release marks a crucial stage in what has been one of the country’s most competitive public sector recruitment exercises in recent years.
