According to Ireporter Online, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has intensified efforts to mobilize grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election. On Thursday, Okpebholo led a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders to Ugo in the Orhionmwon Local Government Area, where hundreds of new supporters were formally welcomed into the party.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed Edo APC’s commitment to President Tinubu, expressing confidence in his re-election bid. “Asiwaju is coming back. This is a decision settled in Edo State. We declare this because of the progress we have made in advancing welfare, security, and infrastructural development for our people,” he stated.

He added, “If they like, let the opposition kidnap all of us. We are not afraid. We will meet them head-on.” Highlighting his administration’s performance, Okpebholo said, “Is Edo not shining? The results you are seeing today reflect the trust you placed in us at the polls.”

Addressing infrastructural concerns, particularly the poor condition of access roads in the area, the governor assured residents that improvements would be completed by 2026. “When I arrived, I was deeply concerned about the road conditions, which posed serious risks for residents. By this time next year, you will see significant changes,” he said.
