Itel Renovates Kaduna Health Centre With Solar-Powered Upgrades, Bringing Hope To Community
According to Ireporter Online, itel has once again demonstrated its dedication to community development through its annual Love Always On Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. This year’s project, themed “Light of Hope: Restoring Health and Brightening Lives in Kaduna,” focused on transforming the Primary Health Care Centre in Makera South, Kaduna State.
The facility, officially commissioned on December 13, 2025, underwent a comprehensive renovation that included complete repainting, the provision of mattresses, pillows, mosquito nets, and bedsheets, alongside the installation of a solar energy system. The solar setup features a 16-kWh battery, a 12-kW inverter, and 18 solar panels rated at 590 W each, ensuring uninterrupted power for critical medical operations. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 7, promoting good health, well-being, and access to sustainable energy.
Dolapo Oloron-Nimbe, ATL Marketing Manager at itel, stated that the project reflects the brand’s commitment to improving lives. “Through this Light of Hope initiative, we aimed to uplift a healthcare facility and bring comfort and dignity to those who rely on it. The festive season is a time of giving, and this project demonstrates our dedication to making a meaningful impact in Nigerian communities,” she said.
Shirley SHI, Marketing Manager at itel Energy, highlighted the importance of reliable electricity in healthcare. “Consistent power is crucial for quality healthcare delivery. The solar system ensures medical personnel can operate without interruption, particularly during emergencies,” she noted.
The PR Supervisor at itel emphasized the brand’s ongoing commitment to community support, noting that this marks the fourth CSR initiative of the year, each designed to create lasting positive effects in local communities.
The gesture was warmly received by local leaders. Alhaji Bello Tanko, Chairman of the Ward Development Committee, expressed gratitude for the solar installation, noting it would greatly improve vaccine storage within the Kaduna South Local Government Area. Similarly, Alhaji Shehu Tijjani, District Head of Makera, presented an award of appreciation to itel for its comprehensive support.
itel’s 2025 CSR efforts have been extensive. In April, the company commissioned an electric borehole in Nasarawa LGA, Kano State. On Children’s Day, it donated educational materials to 51 schools. By September, it executed a Back-to-School initiative at Omolaiye Community Primary School in Ikorodu, and in October, it partnered with Lagos Food Bank Initiative to distribute food and learning materials to pupils across primary schools in Tai LGA, Rivers State.
Through these initiatives, itel continues to reinforce its reputation as a people-focused brand, committed to bridging gaps, uplifting communities, and ensuring that “love always remains on.”
