Okpebholo Strengthens Investor Confidence In Edo State

The governor explained that deliberate efforts to curb cultism and other violent crimes have created a safer and more attractive environment for businesses to operate and expand. He made this known during the pre-launch event of the Skyewise Group Tower in Benin City, where he assured investors that their multi-billion naira investments in Edo State are well protected.

Governor Okpebholo noted that insecurity, which previously discouraged investors from committing resources to the state, has now been reduced to the barest minimum. Represented at the event by his deputy, Dennis Idahosa, the governor stressed that no serious investor would risk capital in an unsafe environment.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Idahosa conveyed assurances that the current administration has made security a top priority. He stated that Edo State faced serious security challenges at the inception of the government but emphasized that decisive actions have drastically reduced criminal activities, particularly cult-related violence.

According to him, the improved security architecture is already yielding positive results, as investors are showing renewed interest and economic activities are picking up across different sectors of the state. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting businesses and ensuring that Edo remains a conducive destination for both local and foreign investments.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Skyewise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere, disclosed that the demolition of the company’s business premises in Lagos and Abuja influenced the decision to relocate major operations to Edo State. He described Edo as a friendlier and more stable environment for business growth.

Dr. Abuyere praised Governor Okpebholo’s leadership, noting that the administration’s policies have boosted investor confidence and positioned the state as an emerging hub for economic expansion. He explained that Skyewise operates across several sectors, including investments, loan facilities, and automobile sales, with a strong focus on luxury and brand-new vehicles.

He added that Edo State, particularly Benin City, represents an untapped market with huge potential, expressing optimism that the company’s presence would contribute to increased access to new automobiles and broader economic development in the state.
