According to Ireporter Online, Governors Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Uba Sani of Kaduna State have signed their respective 2026 appropriation bills into law, formally setting the fiscal direction for their states in the coming year.

In Taraba State, Governor Kefas assented to a ₦653 billion budget after the State House of Assembly reviewed and increased the initial proposal by more than ₦3 billion. The signing took place at the Executive Council Chamber of the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo. The governor assured residents that the budget would be fully implemented, stressing that it reflects his administration’s resolve to deliver sustainable development across the state. He commended members of the House of Assembly for their diligence and timely passage of the bill.

The Speaker of the House, John Kizito Bonzena, explained that the upward review was to accommodate the procurement of textbooks, support the smooth take-off of newly established ministries, and fund the construction of the Taraba State Bio-Entrepreneurship Innovation and Solutions Agency.

In Oyo State, Governor Makinde signed the ₦892 billion 2026 budget into law at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office in Ibadan. He stated that the budget prioritises production over consumption, describing the approach as essential for expanding the state’s economy. The governor urged stakeholders to adhere strictly to implementation plans to ensure that residents derive maximum benefit from the budget.

Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, said lawmakers ensured the timely passage of what he described as a bold and people-focused budget, noting that the seamless process reflected strong cooperation between the executive and legislative arms.

Meanwhile, in Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani signed the ₦985.9 billion 2026 budget into law at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House. He said the budget is designed to consolidate previous gains while laying stronger foundations for sustainable growth.
