Igbogbo Monarch Rolls Out Free JAMB CBT Training For 500 SS3 Students

According to Ireporter Online, no fewer than 500 Senior Secondary School (SS3) students on Tuesday participated in a free mock JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) organised as part of activities marking the 10th coronation anniversary of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali.

The initiative was facilitated by the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation, a non-profit organisation established by the monarch to promote self-help initiatives, community development, and human capacity building within the Igbogbo Kingdom.

The participants were drawn from six secondary schools within the Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu, Lagos State. The schools include Zumratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Community Secondary School Baiyeku, Lagos State Model Girls College Agunfoye, Reri Secondary School Oreta, Oreyo Grammar School, and Civil Service Model College.

The programme, themed “Empowering Future Leaders Through Free Expert CBT Training,” was held at the HOMAT CBT Centre, Igbogbo, and was designed to equip students with the necessary skills and exposure ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Speaking at the event, Oba Kasali expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of ten years on the throne, noting that leadership is fundamentally about impacting lives positively, particularly through educational advancement.

He recalled the transition from paper-based examinations to the current computer-based system, describing it as a reflection of technological progress in education. He stressed that the initiative was conceived to prepare and empower young people with the required competence to excel in their academic pursuits.

The monarch urged the students to take full advantage of the opportunity, remain focused during their studies, and apply the knowledge gained from the training. He cautioned that errors in examinations could result in a lost academic year, as UTME is conducted annually.

He further advised the students to consider a wide range of academic disciplines beyond traditionally popular courses, highlighting the importance of career paths that align with global opportunities. He also cautioned them against drug abuse and negative peer influences that could jeopardise their future aspirations.
