Tinubu’s Headache: Busted How Wikipedia Locked Tinubu’s Profile Page Because Of Unscrupulous Attempt By Detractors (Exclusive)
Another day another drama, that is what we are currently experiencing in Nigerian today as the 2023 Presidential elections beckon.
Like I earlier stated when Tinubu goes to sleep Nigeria goes to sleep, and when Tinubu wakes up Nigeria wakes up. Since some of us have decided to be mad then let us all be mad.
Yesterday night when we ought to be resting or thinking of how to rise above the current plight we find ourselves as Nigerians the media was abuzz with how Wikipedia locked the edit settings on Tinubu’s profile after an unscrupulous attempt by some individuals in editing his age for the purpose of taking screenshots and thereafter accusing Tinubu of falsifying his age.
The funny aspect is that in politics followers tend to blindly and dumbly follow propaganda peddled in support of their interest at the detriment of a fact check.
Are you aware that anybody can edit any information on Wikipedia? All you need to do is to log in and go to the edit settings at the top of the profile.
See the screenshot below…
Above is an illustration on the profile page of Atiku, I did mine as well. Now changes you make would reflect on your dashboard briefly before Wikipedia verifies and confirms the changes.
Now Wikipedia had to lock Tinubu’s profile from unauthorised sources because of the unscrupulous attempt by traducers to malign the Jagaban.
It was a proactive attempt by Wikipedia to stop detractors from compromising their database.
Having said that let me drop a fact check. If we Nigerians agree that some of us use our brains optimally then common sense would tell you that no man can edit his age more than 80 times when he is not even up to 80 years. It is absurd when political lackeys tend to clap for what makes no sense all in the name of the enemy die die die.
Wikipedia used the term vandalism? Vandalism means
Vandalism is the action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property. The term includes property damage, such as graffiti and defacement directed towards any property without permission of the owner.
The keyword is without the “permission of the owner”. So clearly it was locked because it was without the permission of ASIJWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU.
But because some Nigerians are so intellectually bankrupt they can’t think beyond their nose so they start sharing nonsense without understanding their actions.
So what does google say about editing in Wikipedia?
“Anyone can – it’s open to all and can be modified and edited by anyone. However, Wikipedia’s administrators protect some pages from direct editing if they believe they are regularly subjected to “vandalism” – the addition of abusive language or falsehoods.”
