According to Ireporter Online, a Nigerian male pilgrim reportedly from Bauchi State has died during the 2026 Hajj exercise shortly after arriving at Muzdalifah from Arafat.

The incident was said to have occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, with the exact cause of death yet to be determined as authorities have not issued an official statement.

Eyewitness accounts cited by Daily Trust indicate that Saudi security personnel, alongside emergency medical responders, swiftly evacuated the pilgrim from the scene following the overnight movement of worshippers from Arafat to Muzdalifah. The deceased was reportedly wheeled away by Saudi police officers and medical teams shortly after the incident.

Sources further revealed that two officials believed to be members of the Bauchi State pilgrims’ contingent accompanied the remains during the evacuation process. However, the identity of the deceased pilgrim has not been officially confirmed by relevant authorities at the time of filing this report.

In a related development, the Bauchi State Government also recently recorded the death of its Permanent Secretary for Special Services in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Shehu Yahaya Jalam, who passed away in Saudi Arabia after a brief illness while performing the pilgrimage. Governor Bala Mohammed described the late official as a committed and loyal public servant whose contributions to the development of the state would be deeply missed.
