Natasha Osawaru, wife of Afrobeats icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has emerged as the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Egor Constituency seat ahead of the next election.

Announcing her success, the lawmaker expressed gratitude to party members, delegates, and residents of the constituency for the confidence and support they demonstrated throughout the exercise.

She stated that her emergence as the party’s flagbearer reflected the trust reposed in her leadership and vision by both party faithful and constituents. According to her, the outcome of the primary election was not just a personal achievement but a collective victory for delegates, supporters, and community members committed to the development of Egor Constituency.

While celebrating the milestone, she noted that winning the party’s nomination marks only the beginning of the journey, stressing that focus must now shift toward preparations for the general election.

Her emergence comes months after she left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the NDC. She was officially received into the party at its national headquarters in Abuja alongside former Deputy Governor of Gombe State, John Yoriyo, and other political figures during an event led by the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson.
